Central India’s first surgery for Moya Moya disease performed successfully by Dr Anurag Saxena

Dr Anurag Saxens performed successful surgery on a patient suffering from Moya Moya disease. This surgery was performed for the first time in central India. Patient presented with recurrent seizures and stroke and further investigations suggested Moya Moya disease. In this disease the blood vessels supplying brain starts to shrink causing recurrent strokes and it can be fatal.

By performing this surgery patient’s blood vessels from scalp are used to improve circulation of brain. Medical term for this surgery is encephaloduroarteriosynangiosis (EDAS).

Patient has recovered very well and his symptoms have resolved.
